This is my eighth year teaching in a private or charter school. I started out as a 5th Grade teacher my first year, and was asked to design the Composition curriculum for 5th and 6th Grade my second year. For the next 4 years, I taught Mathematics to grade 4 - 8, before teaching a 4-5-6 combo class at a charter school in Oceanside. Last year, I was the 8th Grade teacher at SPCS-Oceanside. I received a degree in International Business with an emphasis in the Asia-Pacific and Japanese, and a minor in Cultural Anthropology from San Diego State University. After working in the business field for several years, I returned to SDSU to pursue my true passion, teaching, and received my multiple subject credential. My varied background in sales, finance, marketing, and logistics allows me to bring that experience into the classroom and demonstrate how many skill, particularly mathematics, are used in the professional world.
Its always been my philosophy that student are the most successful when they are constantly challenged and held to high standards of academic rigor. I am very excited to join SPCS to help foster the successful implementation of our founders' mission and vision in the classroom to help our student achieve their highest level of success.
