Veteran's Day Visit from Major Fukuwa
Posted on November 8, 2019
In honor of Veteran's Day, Major Fukuwa came to our class to tell us about what it means to be a veteran and why it is so important to celebrate Veterans not only on Veteran's Day, but everyday!  We learned about the different branches of the military and then we got to learn more about the Marines.  Every time a Scholar asked answered a question or asked a question, they received a raffle ticket.  A few lucky winner received Marine backpacks from the raffle! They were so excited!

Literature Day Fun
Posted on November 6, 2019
Our Scholars had so much fun dressing up as their book report character.  In order to prepare for Literature Day, other wise known as Halloween, we chose a book character from our favorite book or a book they were interested in reading.  They wrote about the main character, the setting of the text and the problem the character was having in the text.  Lastly, they wrote about the character's character traits (what's on the inside) and physical traits (what's on the outside). Check out their creativity!
